In this episode, we explore the importance of the impact of brands on people and planet. Not just for the consumers, but at the very beginning of the chain, the farmers, in this case. We discuss the impact on the soil and overall planet and how this brand, Wunder Workshop, set up a blueprint in how business should be conducted; by having a personal relationship with the producers, as well as supporting communities.
Wunder Workshop creates products for the People & Planet. They focus on Consumption With Purpose®, by harvesting the power of regeneratively grown plants for the ultimate wellness rituals. Wunder translates to miracle, and they focus on plants that have a quality that can be classed as such.
Set up by Tom & Zoe in 2014, Wunder Workshop is inspired by intuitive herbalism and Ayurveda - in particular, the preventative and holistic approach that this ancient medical system uses to maintain optimal physical and mental health.
As conscious citizens themselves, all the decisions they make at Wunder Workshop are based on a set of ethical and sustainable values to promote a transparent relationship between grower and consumer.
In keeping these values, they source functional ingredients to create products with integrity and purpose. Their full-circle approach to their products, maintains that the farmers, the environment, soil health and customers are in mind at every stage, from growing to the final sip.

Meet Tom and Zoe
Zoë Lind van't Hof / FOUNDER
Zoe learned about health and nutrition from her late mother, who had been in the wellbeing industry for over 40 years. This meant she grew up plant-based, surrounded by botanicals, developing her own intuitive herbalism, foraging and growing organic food was the daily norm. This knowledge and motivation has led her to start up her own business.
Having travelled with her late mother to Sri Lanka to experience and learn more about Ayurveda, Zoe learned about turmeric and its benefits. A couple of years after finishing her Masters degree in International Relations with a thesis on Climate Change, she went back to Sri Lanka to establish a partnership with the suppliers of our most crucial ingredient, Turmeric, and begin her journey to starting Wunder Workshop.
Tom Smale / CO-FOUNDER
Tom came across a significant body of research supporting turmeric and curcumin when studying pharmacology.Seeing the role that plants have in the medical world he was keen to learn more. Plus, havingworked in the medical world for a number of years, Tom was convinced that there was a better way to approach our wellbeing.
Speaking about the power of plants and the way they interact with our body is Tom's focus. Using the experience gained in the pharmacological world and a deepening understanding of traditional plant-based remedies, he helps to research ingredients that are functional and effective. Tom is also a passionate plant-based cook, sourdough baking enthusiast and cyclist.
